Birla Cellulose Unveils Liva Reviva™ M: India’s First Mechanically Recycled Cellulosic Fibre
Share Post

Birla Cellulose has introduced Liva Reviva™ M, India’s first mechanically recycled cellulosic fibre made using up to 50% post-consumer textile waste. This new fibre is part of a push toward circular fashion, aiming to reduce waste and make textiles more sustainable.

Liva Reviva™ M is 100% plant-based and skin-friendly. It offers softness, breathability, and good drape, qualities important for garments. The fibre is also certified under GRS (Global Recycling Standard) and FSC®, ensuring it is traceable and responsibly sourced.

This launch is significant because the fashion industry faces a huge waste problem globally. 92 million tonnes of textile waste is thrown away each year, and this amount is expected to rise. Liva Reviva™ M offers a way to “close the loop” by turning discarded clothing into new fibre for fabrics, helping reduce landfill and pollution.

By introducing Liva Reviva™ M, Birla Cellulose is positioning itself as a leader in sustainable textiles and recycled fibres in India. This move may accelerate adoption of circular fashion practices among brands, helping India contribute to global sustainability goals.
