In a landmark initiative to strengthen India’s garment and textile sector, the Government of Chhattisgarh has joined hands with the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) as a Partner State. This collaboration is set to leverage the state’s progressive Textile Policy to attract investments, spur industrial growth, and create employment opportunities, particularly in the apparel sector.

A high-level CMAI delegation, led by President Santosh Katariya, attended a roadshow organized by the Government of Chhattisgarh in Mumbai. Key members of the delegation included Mr. Naveen Sainani, Hon. General Secretary and Chairman of the FAB Show, Mr. Rahul Mehta, Chief Mentor, and Mr. Aanurag Dhoot, Senior Director. Following the event, the delegation held an exclusive meeting with Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, and senior state officials, where the partnership was officially finalized.

Santosh Katariya highlighted Chhattisgarh’s immense potential, stating that the state offers a promising opportunity for the expansion of the Indian apparel industry. He emphasized that CMAI and its members could play a pivotal role in generating employment, particularly for women, within Chhattisgarh’s upcoming mega Textile Park.

The collaboration is expected to position Chhattisgarh as a key hub in India’s garment and textile industry. It aligns with the Make in India initiative, focusing on strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities and boosting exports.

As part of its efforts to attract investments, the Chhattisgarh government hosted an Investor Connect Meet on January 23 in Mumbai, showcasing the state’s potential as an industrial and economic hub. The event attracted leading industrial groups and secured investment proposals exceeding ?6,000 crores, further solidifying Chhattisgarh’s standing as a preferred destination for textile and apparel manufacturing.
