Giriraj Singh Leads Strategic Textile Advisory Meet to Strengthen Cotton and MMF Value Chain

Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh chaired a crucial meeting of the Textile Advisory Group (TAG) focused on cotton and man-made fibres (MMF), marking a decisive step toward building a stronger, more resilient textile value chain. Held on Tuesday, the session brought together key stakeholders from across the textile ecosystem to assess progress and align efforts with long-term national goals.

The Minister urged all participants to carry out a detailed gap analysis across the entire demand and supply chain, highlighting the need for precise data mapping. Such an approach, he noted, would support more targeted policy decisions and ensure that interventions reach the grassroots level. Giriraj Singh emphasized the importance of innovation and collective action in boosting farm productivity, improving fibre quality, and maximizing value creation throughout the chain.

Minister of State for Textiles, Pabitra Margherita, also addressed the gathering, calling on industry leaders to unite under a shared vision for the future. He encouraged stakeholders to work with sustainability at the forefront, ensuring farmers receive better returns through modern farming methods and advanced processing techniques. The adoption of technology, he stressed, is vital for enhancing the availability of high-quality cotton to meet rising industry demands.

The meeting signals a renewed push toward achieving Vision 2030 with a focus on sustainable practices, enhanced productivity, and a seamless supply chain for both natural and synthetic fibres. Under Giriraj Singh’s leadership, the textile sector is poised for a more data-led, inclusive, and forward-looking transformation.
